Philippe Gerlach (@philippegerlach) discussed his work and his relationship with Linz with curator Markus Reindl (@markusreindlat) in the OOE interview. Gerlach focuses on his environment and attempts to depict it as accurately as possible. The poetic nature of a magical moment is more important to him than a conventional snapshot or a balanced visual composition. Gerlach's photographs, along with the works of more than 100 Upper Austrian artists, are on display at the exhibition "Culture Needs Art!" at the Linz Schlossmuseum. Admission is free. The artist Sabine Jelinek (@misssimmering) was a guest at our live #ooeinterview. She spoke to curator Markus Reindl (@markusreindlat) about her photo series "Sternengartenparadies" (Stellar Garden Paradise). Jelinek's works address what happens to the body and soul after death. In her six-part photo series, she combines speculative scientific theories with literary imagination and also lets alien beings from outer space have their say. Jelinek's photo series can be viewed until 4 October at the summer exhibition "Culture Needs Art!" at the Linz Schlossmuseum. Admission is free. The artist Evalie Wagner (@evaliewagner) was a guest at our live #ooeinterview (@markusreindlat). She graduated in Cultural Studies and Painting and Graphic Art at the University of Art and Design in Linz. Wagner primarily works with floral materials, which she implements in a wide variety of formats and techniques ranging from painting to sculpture and installations. Nature always plays an essential role in her works. Wagner is one of more than 100 artists who are currently presenting their works at the exhibition "Culture Needs Art!" at the Linz Schlossmuseum.
